Upload videos and images

Choose upload settings, follow processing, and publish a ready file.

On this page

Choose a file and destination

Open Upload. Under Upload to, choose Main or an active project, then drop a video or image into the file area or select it from your device. Main contains files without a project.

Confirm your email first if the dashboard asks you to. Review your plan’s storage allowance and the upload information on this page before sending a large file.

Choose how the video is prepared

SettingWhen to use it
AdaptiveCreates several streams so the player can choose one that suits the viewer’s connection and screen.
Single streamCreates one resolution and uses less storage. It may buffer more on a slow connection.
Video qualityChoose a quality ceiling offered by your plan. A lower ceiling creates fewer streams; it does not improve the source’s quality.
Encode nowPrepares the video for playback after upload. Review the quote before confirming.
Store only, encode laterStores the source without preparing a player. Storage counts toward your plan; encoding starts only when you request it later.
Keep original fileRetains a downloadable source and allows later re-encoding. It counts as stored data.
Generate captionsAvailable on plans that support captions. Review the displayed price before requesting them.

Upload and check progress

  1. Review the quote

For a video being encoded now, review the displayed allowance and wallet estimate. Click Upload and encode, or choose Upload, encode later to store the file first.
  2. Keep the tab open

The progress indicator shows bytes sent. A dropped connection retries the affected part. Closing the tab interrupts the upload; it does not create a finished, playable file.
  3. Check the file page

After upload, open the file in your library. A ready video has a preview and sharing options. A stored-only video explains that it has not been encoded and lets you start preparation later.

Understand costs and originals

The upload quote uses the current catalog and your plan’s remaining encoding allowance. Eligible encoding beyond the allowance uses wallet credit. Failed encodes return their encoding fee. Images do not have an image-encoding charge; stored files and delivered bytes still count toward your allowances.

An original that is not kept is removed after the verified preparation grace period shown in the dashboard. Download or keep the source if you need it later. Removing an unkept original is permanent.

If storage or funds prevent an upload or encode, follow the file’s status message and check Usage & billing.
