Get started

Go from your first upload to a video playing on your website.

On this page

Before you start

Sign in to your account and have a short video ready. The dashboard is enough to upload, publish and embed your first video; you do not need an API key.

Open Getting started to follow your account’s checklist. If email confirmation is required, open the link in your inbox before uploading. The email banner lets you request another link.

Publish your first video

  1. Upload a video

Open Upload, choose Main or a project as the destination, then select your file. Review the encoding quote and choose Upload and encode. Keep the tab open while the upload runs.
  2. Wait for a ready player

Open the file from your library. Its status shows upload and processing progress. Once it is ready, play the preview to check your video.
  3. Copy the embed

On the video page, choose Embed and click Copy embed code. Paste the iframe into an HTML block on your website. Use Background for a muted, looping background.
  4. Test your published page

Publish the page and check playback on your website. Return to Getting started and click I’ve tested playback on my site to record your check.

Check the result

Your website should show a player that starts when a visitor presses play. The permanent embed can stay on your site; you do not need to replace it each time a playback token expires.

The checklist records your confirmation of the website test. It does not inspect your website automatically.

What to do next

Choose a thumbnail to improve your video’s first impression, create a GIF from a highlight, or open Video analytics after viewers start watching.

For automated uploads and your own player, follow the API reference.
